In My Path

it was an ordinary morning
i stepped into the driveway
loaded down with a sizeable stack
of freshly laundered clothes
bound for the motorhome

 and then this…….
was in my path

down went the laundry
out came the camera

i was in another world
a world of delicate droplets
and ethereal intricacies
i was drinking
from the spring of amazement

and thinking how
just a few short years ago
i would have passed by
with barely a glance….

what will be in your path today??
keep (all!) your senses open
and be AMAZED

Thank You, Oregon

for your endless miles of jaw-dropping coastline
punctuated by every conceivable variation
of jagged rock formation

for your ever-swirling fog and mist
and the rare bouts of delicious sunshine

for your thriving sea life and water fowl communities

for your infinite greenery,

trees stretching right to the edge of the sea…
and beyond

for your cooling ocean breezes,
be-lying the reality of mid-summer

for your stalwart lighthouses,
beacons standing valiantly against nature’s ferocity

for your relentless rivers, creeks and streams

for your endless supply of berries,
ripe and ready for picking

and for your fabulous state parks with their
            reasonable rates
            free day use
welcoming dog policies (on trails and beaches!)
            electricity and water hook-ups

(psst!  could you please tell california to get a clue about some of this!)

oh, and did you know that oregon even has a redwood grove??

i'm immersed in a state of gratitude.....  to have had the opportunity to experience all of this goodness!!
happy, happy.......

Mail Art

By Sloane Solanto (www.sloanesolanto.com)

well, i’m back and just beginning to acclimate myself to real life once again after some incredible time away, much of which i spent in an extended state of amazement at all the wonders we were able to see.

By Carolyn Summers from Idaho

before we left i put a vacation hold on our mail, as i always do when we travel.  alas, something went awry and all 17 days’ worth of mail was stuffed in the mailbox on our return….  the up side of this little booboo was that sandwiched deep between the piles of ads, credit card offers and otherwise annoying pieces of junk were these 5 little wondrous pieces of art!

By Diana Foster (www.thestudio56.com)

they are my personal stash from kat’s liberate your art postcard swap and i wanted to share these beautiful day-brighteners right away before i tackle the mountains of laundry and begin wading through the 1200 or so photos that i captured…… (coming soon….)

Sadly, I didn't get a name with this little gem

it’s always nice to get back to the comforts of home after being on the road and i do hope to catch up with all of you very soon!!

By Angela Vular from PA

(aren't they just the loveliest mix??)

Break Time

time for a break and we are heading north. i’m not going to commit to posting while we are gone – maybe i will and maybe i won’t (how’s that for a commitment??)

in the meantime, i leave you with this…

let nature speak to you

deeply

be in its presence

it has many things to tell you

be still

be open

let it speak

feast upon it…

breathe.....
