i was so lucky that my class reunion coincided with this amazing event
and that i got to see at least a little part of it.

basically the whole city of grand rapids turns into a giant art gallery for almost 3 weeks.  people come in droves to witness it and to be immersed in art.  school children come by the busload on field trips.  the city is transformed and everyone is thinking “art”.  how cool is that??

i was only able to visit a tiny portion of the 1,713 pieces, but what i saw was astounding.

so diverse.

so much talent.

so much creativity.

absolutely inspiring.

Resilience by my friend Debra Smale
it’s an idea that needs to grow and happen in other cities.

think about it.

why not yours??

Dear Gussie..I'm absolutely in love with the cylinder shaped figurative pieces (on the floor)..they appear to be lit from beneath, or maybe they have focal light from above. Truly amazing stuff! Hope you enjoyed a great Columbus Day! :)) Hugs, Terri
