Elusive...

delicate
fragile
mesmerizing
elusive
flighty
transient

i think i’ve got it
oops, it’s gone
just out of reach
come over here,
rest with me a bit….

the stiller i am,
the more likely you will
stop flapping about
and actually land
so i can appreciate
your true colors
in all their glory
i’m not moving….

i’m still talking
about butterflies, right?
or was it JOY??

(more butterflies here, photos taken 4/18/11 at SD Safari Park)

  1. These are beautiful photos. We were there on the second day, a Sunday, and there were lots and lots of people. Didn't get any good photos of the butterflies. I wanted to see the Paradise bird that is also in the enclosure, but it was hiding from all the people. Love the words, too.

  6. To catch a moment in time ... one second, or perhaps less. The blink of an eye and it's all changed. How lucky we are to see through your eyes, Patty. Absolutely awe inspiring, both your words and your pictures. xx hugs from Mexico, Donna

  9. My Goodness Patty..These Shots Are Fantastic! You Have Such A Way In Capturing The "Perfect Moment"! I Truly Don't Think I've Ever Seen Butterflies Captured As Beautifully As These Were! I'm Serious! Great Job! And Friend, Thanks For Dropping Over Earlier..I Always Smile Knowing You've Visited. I've Just Cleaned My Brushes Following A 4 Hour Session And Am About To Call It A Day. I've Been Painting More At Night These Days..Seems When The House Is Still..And I've Tucked Mama In..I Can Concentrate More. Here's Hoping You Enjoy A Perfect Easter..Hugs, Terri
