Rewind

have you ever gone back to read something you wrote a while back, not expecting much, and then been totally surprised to find that you forgot that you wrote it and in fact you kinda still feel the same way now and could write the same thing all over again??  i took a little trip down memory lane recently.  i wanted to read what i had written last year at this time and what i had said about the holidays.  I found a couple of posts that i felt might be worth sharing again, especially since i really only had a handful of readers when i wrote them.  if you've read this already, i apologize, but i found the reminder to be helpful for me amidst all the craziness right now.  if you feel prompted to leave a comment, I'd appreciate it if you'd come back here just to keep them straight.  thanks!  go ahead and jump on back to "it's all christmas". (it's short!)

  1. Yes, I've totally done that! It's that wierd? I love going back and re-reading my thoughts... I like your thoughts on xmas. Yes, it's definitely different for everyone. I used to hate the season - stemming from family issues I won't get into. But now I'm realizing that it's what you make of it...you can create the experience you want & xmas is whatever you want it to be. (of course there's always a little crazy family stuff - but I guess that's normal) :)

  2. I know what you mean, Patty. Christmas is always kind of anticlimactic for me, too. The weeks before Christmas can get so filled up with to dos and stress about getting it all done that its easy to forget to enjoy the season. Thanks for the reminder!

  3. Yes, Patty, I've done that, too, except that I usually don't imagine I could ever repeat it in quite the same way. :) I read last year's post and totally agree. And I find both of the images, then and now, to be delightful!

When I saw "Rewind," I immediately thought of one of my favorite Dutch expressions: nog één keer = one more time. I like that. :)

  4. That was very fun, Patty. Christmas is very laid back here in Mexico. I like it. It was interesting to see I was following your blog then as well. I remember loving your photograph. Commenting I would like to play with photoshop when I 'come back in the spring' .... ha ... we know where I ended up. Can't wait to see and hear more about your studio.

  5. I don't notice the craziness, because it is not crazy for me (I find it rather relaxing and enjoyable), but I agree with you.
